Want to help kids discover God's recipe for living?

Welcome to SHAKE IT UP CAFE! You have an exciting opportunity to change hearts and impact the lives of children while having a whole lot of fun! At SHAKE IT UP CAFE, you will help teach children the secret ingredients for being a follower of God and celebrate biblical festivals through dramas, crafts, games, science activities, music, and hours fo fun!

How can you help make this happen?

• PRAY for success in our mission.
• VOLUNTEER your time as a leader, assistant, musician, decorator, etc.
• DONATE resources so we can provide a meaningful experience (click here for list of supplies needed).
• PUBLICIZE the event so we can reach as many children as possible.

YOU can make a difference in the young lives around you!

What's Required?

As a VBS Volunteer, you play an important role in creating an exciting atmosphere for kids to connect with God.  You will be working with and supported by a group of dedicated volunteers.  We need committed youth and young adults who are eager for children to have an awsome experience at SHAKE IT UP CAFE; people who:

• love children and want to work with them
• want to bring God's love alive in a child's world
• are patient, dependable, and committed

All volunteers will receive training before the week begins and will have the opportunity to connect with other people from our churches community.

What if I'm not around that week?

We know that many people work full-time and go on vacation in August.  There are still many ways you can help!

• Collect supplies
• make simple crafts
• create the decorations
• work with publicity

What if I don't want to work with the kids?

We underatand that not everyone is called to work directly with children, but you are still excited to see the church minister to them.  You can still help by:

• Participatng with the daily setup and clean-up
• Decorating the church before the week begins
• Setting up the rooms before each sesion.

Ready to Help?

Volunteers 12 and older are needed to help before, during, and after Vacation Bible School.  No matter what your availability or interest, we have a place for you to get involved!  All that's required is a willingness to help, a heart to serve God, and a desire to provide a wonderful Christ-filled experience to our area's youth.  Some of the ways to get involved include:

Crew Leader

As a Crew Leader, you will travel with a group of 6-8 kids, leading them to each of the activity sites.  At each site, you can in the activities with the kids, encouraging and assisting them as needed.  At the end of each day, you will have a chance to involve them in discussion about each day's Bible lesson and life focus

Bible Drama Characters

People are needed to help bring our Bible stories to life through storytelling.  As a Bible Character, you will be given a script to perform in front of a small group of children in conjunction with our Bible Storyteller.

Decorating Team

As part of the decorating team, you will help to transform the church into SHAKE IT UP CAFE!  You will be involved in creating a fun atmosphere throughout the church with the use of pre-printed graphics and other elements of your own creation.  In addition, your help is needed to set the stage for each day's Bible stories by creating sets which will help the children feel like they're in the story they're learning about. 

Snack Crew

Learning to be a hero is tough work, and these kids get hungry!  As part of the snack crew, you will work with the snack coordinator to prepare and serve tasty snacks to all of our budding heroes.
